Your next step, made simpler

Put your moving plan into motion

Find a truck, explore containers, build your packing list or plan storage. Use these starting points to compare actual options for your move.

These are provider resources, not a ranking or a confirmation of availability. Prices, service areas and booking terms come from each provider. Alaska and Hawaii require specialist transport review.

Pack with a plan

Find your packing kit

Start with your space, see the box mix, then check the extras you need. No email or inventory required.

These are starting points to compare. Your belongings and what your mover supplies determine the quantities you need.

A kit to compare

Start with a mix of box sizes

A smaller home can still have a full kitchen, books and bedding. Compare a mixed kit before buying only large boxes.

uBoxes Apartment Moving Kit

Boxes listed in this kit

  • 9 small: 16 × 10 × 10 inches
  • 9 medium: 18 × 14 × 12 inches
  • 6 large: 20 × 20 × 15 inches

The listing also includes a kitchen box and dish kit, foam, paper, bubble cushioning, tape with a dispenser, queen-size covers and a marker.

Make it fit your move: Check the cover sizes and packing-material quantities. A kit labeled for an apartment may still be too much or too little for yours.

How we choose these starting points

We compare the supplier’s listed box sizes and included materials with common packing needs. We have not independently tested these kits, and home size does not predict an exact box count. Use sound supplies you already own, follow box weight limits and confirm any materials included in your moving service.

Just need individual supplies or local pickup?

The Home Depot

A secondary option for individual supplies or local pickup. Check stock and pickup timing at your chosen store.

Find a truck for your self-move

Start with who will drive and who will lift at each home. Compare the whole trip before choosing a vehicle.

  • Check loading space and equipment fit rather than relying only on a bedroom count.
  • Include fuel, mileage, overnight stops, protection and separately hired loading help.

Let someone else handle the driving

A container or trailer can separate the transport from the packing and lifting. Confirm that the equipment can be placed and collected at both ends.

  • Ask the provider about clearance, loading time and your property manager's placement rules.
  • Confirm the written schedule, storage access and charges if your dates change.

U-Pack

Research a long-distance option with ReloCube containers or a trailer. You arrange packing and loading; the provider handles transport.

Before you book or buy: Confirm route eligibility, equipment, loading space, access, storage and delivery arrangements directly.

Bridge the gap between homes

A low introductory rent is only part of a storage plan. Include the work and transport needed to load in and move out again.

  • Compare the ongoing monthly total, access hours, notice requirements and any required protection.
  • Separate self-storage, storage in a container and a mover's storage-in-transit have different responsibilities.

SpareFoot

Research separate self-storage when there is a gap between homes. A unit reservation does not arrange moving or loading help.

Before you book or buy: Confirm unit access and size, ongoing rent, introductory-rate expiry, fees, protection requirements and move-out notice.
